Never Thought I Would Get Into Data Analytics

Thanks to my job, I got introduced to the concept of BI analytics. I have already worked with Google Looker and MS Power BI.

I especially liked the latter with its clear, familiar, and simple interface. It is perfect for those with extensive experience in Excel. Think of it as the second stage of working with Excel.

BI platforms are convenient because they allow you to integrate all your data sources. For example, if you have a database in 1C and manage small tasks in Excel—like tracking sales in Excel while storing product and inventory reports in 1C—BI can unify all these sources:

• To retrieve data from Excel, you can request your 1C developers to help connect your BI to the 1C database. Just inform the accountant that their data will remain untouched. Ensure your developer provides read-only access to maintain data integrity while working with real data.
• You can move your Excel files to Google Sheets, organize them into different sheets, and connect them to BI. Any confident PC user can do this without programming knowledge.
